1 Year, 9 Months, and 6 Days

Ruby & Charlotte are 1 year, 9 months, and 6 days old today. We spent Father's Day/Bob's birthday at Brookfield Zoo (we became members), and the girls had more fun walking around on their own instead of being strapped into a stroller. We discovered why Ruby has been a drooling machine the past few weeks: she has 2 molars on each side up top halfway out and a 3rd about to break through on the bottom. In Charlotte's mouth we can see a molar on top getting ready to descend. Their letter and number recognition is increasing each day, as is their love of old Sesame Street DVDs that we let them watch after dinner. Enjoy the photos!

On our front porch:

At the zoo, they were very excited to sit on a bench by themselves (the photo quality is poor on the next 2 pictures because they were taken with my cell phone):

Ruby found a love for pushing one of the umbrella strollers at the zoo, and proceeded to do so for most of our time there:

Charlotte finds that sitting in a pile of clean laundry and trying a couple pieces on to be serious business:

Helping Bob open his Father's Day/birthday gifts on Sunday:

We are attempting to teach them to eat in a more civilized manner, and they love the new Sesame Street plates:

Eating yogurt with Sesame Street spoons (they were fairly successful):

Outside our home one morning:

Ruby was not happy about falling down in the grass and sitting in it:

Charlotte has no problem wandering away on her own to explore:

They bring piles of books over to their chairs to begin their morning reading time:
