2 Years, 11 Months, and 4 Weeks

Ruby & Charlotte are 2 years, 11 months, and 4 weeks old today. On Friday, we will celebrate their 3rd birthday with family visiting us from California. They interact more & more while they play these days instead of parallel play (playing independently near one another). We introduced them to some of the classic Disney storybooks and so far they like to fixate on the scene in Pinocchio where the whale Monstro sneezes and they escape. Pre-preschool began last Saturday, and they had fun. They walked into their classroom without giving Bob or me a second glance. We had to search them out to say goodbye. They behaved well the entire time without incident, and are excited to go again. Enjoy the photos!

Holding hands:
1st homework assignment before school began was to decorate these apple plates with their photos (we chose to use flower buttons and foam bugs):
Ready to leave for pre-preschool (this was not a very cooperative photo shoot moment):
Running ahead to go inside the building by themselves:
After class, we wandered over to the river to see some ducks:
Ruby wanted to see the waterfall, and Charlotte followed:
They celebrated their 1st day of class by coming home and pedaling their tricycles around:
Running outside our home:
Ruby loves to watch the airplanes:
Charlotte plays with dirt clods on occasion:
They discovered that kicking dirt causes dusty clouds:
These kids would be perfectly fine without conventional toys as long as they had access to some sticks, rocks, and dirt:
