More Bed Rest

I had my first appointment with the perinatologist (high risk maternal/fetal specialist) this afternoon. I will be seeing him in addition to my OB for monitoring during the pregnancy. I had the nuchal transluency ultrasound (they measure the amount of fluid behind each baby's neck) and blood work done to estimate the risk of Down Syndrome and trisomies 18 & 13. We should get the results back in 7-10 days.
Sadly, the implantation bleed has not changed, so I must continue my bed rest indefinitely. The doctors will be monitoring it at every ultrasound, so hopefully I will be able to get out of bed sooner rather than later.
The babies are both growing on schedule with strong heartbeats. Week 12 is when they start developing reflexes. We were able to see Baby A opening and closing it's mouth when the tech zoomed in for the neck measurements.

Below are the photos from today's ultrasound (the white stripes up the backs are their spines):

As I promised last time, belly photos from the past 12 weeks will go up shortly. Bob is working on an animation of sorts so you can all watch me expand. Once he finishes, I will post it.
