36 Weeks (and a Day)

Well, I'm still pregnant despite my body's attempts to remedy that.
We had our last appointment with the high risk doctor for a growth ultrasound today. Both girls are healthy and very active, even though they should not have that much room left to maneuver at this point.

Here is a view of Charlotte's face (it was much clearer on the screen while we were there) at 36w1d, estimated weight of 6lbs:

Here is a profile view (once again, not as clear on paper) of Ruby at 36w1d, estimated weight of 6lbs, 1oz:

That makes over 12lbs of baby in my uterus right now. It definitely feels like it.
We had a NST at the OB's immediately following the growth scan, and both girls decided to sleep through most of it until I had Bob go get me a vanilla shake. That got them moving. Before that, the nurse tried using a sound buzzer near my stomach which only made them respond briefly the first time, because after she tried again a few minutes later, it did not even phase them.
My OB came in to talk to us about our adventure in the hospital over the weekend, and decided that at next week's appointment with her on Tuesday we can talk about moving the date up on the scheduled c-section. As of right now, I don't know that I will make it to next week's appointment. Contractions are more frequent every day, so I think we may have baby girls before this week is over. But my cervix could hold up and surprise us all.
